The Millmerran Museum brings the past to life with buildings, displays and memorabilia from times gone by. The Historical Society is based in the original Millmerran Shire Council Office building. Come and view a snapshot of Millmerran's local history; including our military service, pioneer lifestyles, local and family histories, pioneer photo gallery and the "Water Baby" (a flood boat used by the Gore Family to traverse the flooded river. The Houston Family Collection is a diverse range of stationary engines, farm machinery and memorabilia. We welcome individuals and groups to join us for a tour by a local identity or to simply enjoy a stroll. |
OPEN DAY Come and help us celebrate 100 years of rail service to Millmerran with a special exhibition at our 2011 Open Day. Highlights include the opening of the Yandilla Cream Shed which has recently been relocated to the Museum. The history of Millmerran Railway book written by local author Grant Uebergang, will be launched. Local bush poet, Gary Fogarty, will be the Master of Ceremonies - Gary is sponsored by Heritage Building Society. Town Crier, Ralph Cockle, will introduce the formal part of the ceremony. "Windy City" Jazz band will keep the crowd entertained - proudly sponsored by Toowoomba Regional Council. Millmerran Arts and Crafts will have 100 years of fashion parade and display. Yandilla Church will be open from 10 - 11am. Gore Family Bible is to be displayed at the Museum. Displays include BBQ and light refreshments available.
