St Joseph's Primary School was established in 1959 and originally staffed by the Sisters of St Joseph, an Australian order founded by Mother Mary Mackillop in 1866. The school was built with much voluntary labour and is regarded by the Catholic community with great pride.
The school is now staffed by a dedicated team of fully qualified Catholic lay teachers, assisted by a qualified aide and Pre School assistant. In its short history, St Joseph's has acquired an excellent academic tradition which follows curriculum guidelines set down for all Queensland schools.
St Joseph's caters for children from Pre School to Grade Seven. The current level of student enrolments allows for close interaction between parents, students and staff. Our staff endeavour to foster a climate of meaningful learning, love, security and personal interest in each student.
MISSION STATEMENT
St Joseph's Primary School is a Christian School in the Catholic Tradition. As a Catholic School, St Joseph's aims to foster an environment of Christian love and understanding through the development of the whole person. The school endeavors to be a place where children and adults can grow in the knowledge of God's love for them, and in love and concern for others. We believe that education is a combined venture of the child, parents, teachers and the Parish Community.
